On April 24th, the case of Don’t Expand UW Primate Testing v. University of Washington Board of Regents — the case that launched the No New Animal Lab campaign — has a court hearing.

Last Fall, Don’t Expand UW Primate Testing filed a lawsuit against the UW Regents over their decision to build the Animal Research and Care Facility because the decision occurred in one of the Regents’ closed-door dinner meetings at the UW President’s mansion — a violation of Washington’s Open Public Meetings Act.

We must show the Regents that they do not get to hide their vote for the lab — not with secret meetings, and not with building animal labs underground. In the streets and in the courtroom, we will hold them accountable.

The hearing will be in the courtroom of the Honorable Judge Laura Inveen. Please plan for a long security line and note that you may have to show ID and be searched.

Note that this is the day before the March on the University of Washington — join us in Seattle for a whole weekend of action, from Friday to Monday!
